Hello Friends!
It has been a while since the last e-news alert was sent out to our fellow Friends of the Tumacacori Highlands. Lots of progress and exciting developments have occurred since then!
We couldn't have accomplished all this without your letters, signed petitions and willing support. Thank you! Your continued advocacy will help make our shared dream of Wilderness in the Tumacacori Highlands a reality.

Wilderness Update
The Tumacacori Highlands Wilderness Act
H.R. 3287, the Tumacacori Highlands Wilderness Act of 2007, was introduced to the House of Representatives by Rep. Raul Grijalva in April of 2007. Support for the bill has continued to grow! The bill will be re-introduced this year under the new Administration and given a new H.R. designation (becoming the Tumacacori Highlands Wilderness Act of 2009), and then sent to Committee for mark-up before going to vote by your House Representatives. Once the bill passes the House, it will be sent to the Senate, and eventually, the President's desk! These things do take time, but with the work and effort of Sky Island Alliance, Congressman Grijalva and his staff, and your voices of support, we continue to gain ground!
